Down Windsor Way (Paperback)

Our first book, Down Windsor Way, is a nostalgic and often light hearted biography of my and my 3 brothers’ childhood, spent in the care of Barnardo’s.

Our story is not only unusual but probably unique and in modern times almost impossible to replicate. Today’s care “model” contrasts with the institutional childcare that we experienced in the middle of the 20th century.

This story is not one of malice and retribution for a childhood lost but a celebration of the fun and joy we shared during those early years.

This book brings to life the nostalgia of a 1950s childhood, shares our pathos and disappointments but most importantly, will hopefully bring a smile to your face.
